Hard On receives its queen
Royaler Glanz für den guten Zweck: LMC Vienna feiert 30-jähriges Jubiläum des Koninginnedag
LMC Vienna celebrated a special anniversary on April 30th: For the 30th time, LMC Vienna hosted its traditional "Koninginnedag" (Queen's Day) at the HardOn clubhouse. With a sold-out crowd and an exceptional atmosphere, the event not only welcomed the "Queen" but also sent a powerful message about HIV prevention.
Art Auction as the Evening's Highlight
Charming hosting and an art auction as the highlight: The royal evening was hosted with her usual poise and charm by Terry Taylor, who expertly moderated the event, ably assisted by Charlott En Burger.
Together, they guided the audience to the highlight of the night: the
ceremonial auction of an exclusive painting by the artist Lars van Roosendaal, followed by the appearance of the Queen – portrayed by Sissi Hot – at midnight. The artwork sparked a thrilling bidding war and was ultimately auctioned off for an impressive, high price.
Commitment to Health: Proceeds for HIV Prevention
LMC Vienna remains true to its social responsibility: All proceeds from the art auction, as well as the donations collected at the entrance, will directly benefit HIV prevention projects. For three decades, the club has thus combined a vibrant party culture with a commitment to health and education within the community.
“A packed house for the 30th anniversary shows how deeply rooted Koninginnedag is in the Viennese scene. The fact that we can make such an important contribution to prevention work thanks to the generosity of our guests and the art of Lars van Roosendaal makes this evening a complete success,” said the LMC Vienna team.

Lars van Roosendaal creates paintings for the Queen's Day of the LMC Vienna
Vienna-based artist Lars van Roosendaal has created a new painting specifically for this year's Queen's Day at LMC Vienna. The artwork depicts former Dutch Queen Beatrix, recognizable by her iconic helmet-like hairstyle, dressed in the vibrant orange of the Dutch royals, within the dimly lit rooms of Hard On.
Van Roosendaal's painting blends queer community history, humor, and reverence, creating a tribute to Beatrix, who continues to be revered as Queen by her queer subjects in Vienna.
Van Roosendaal is one of Vienna's most prominent queer artists. His works explore the body, intimacy, and erotic encounters. In his exhibition series "Pride, Shame & Prejudice," he used portraits to examine the community's experiences of pride, shame, and prejudice. His "Alien" triptych (currently at Galerie Newman in Berlin) addresses isolation, alienation, and vulnerability. His solo exhibition, I Just Want to Be a Good Boy!, in Vienna's city center, explored coming out, overcompensation, and the fear of HIV in the pre-combination therapy era.
The new painting will be presented on April 30, 2026, at the LMC Vienna's Queen's Day celebration at Hard On.
